The essence of love

In 1812, after the lost war, many French soldiers and officers wandered through Russia in search of a way home. Some of them found employment as French teachers for the children of Russian nobles. One of them was François de La Lenes, who stayed with the family of Count Artuchowski. As a token of his love, he gave the lady of the house two perfume recipes, which the family managed to preserve through the Russian revolutions, emigration, and wars.
It was not until 2015, more than 200 years later, that the great-granddaughter and founder of the LEN FRAGRANCE brand, Jelena von Olnhausen, decided to transform both recipes into real perfumes. With four additional fragrances, the fragrance line "Histoire Privée" (Private History) was created and launched in 2018.
Each of the six perfumes tells a private or fictional love story and is a key to our memories. Therefore, the LEN FRAGRANCE logo is an old keyhead, which is also depicted on all magnetic lids. Each packaging shows elements of the love story and
symbols of the city in which it takes place. The name LEN is derived from the last name of the original perfumer "de La Lenes". Jelena Countess Artuchowkaja von Olnhausen sought the famous French perfume designer Thierry de Baschmakoff for the design of the packaging and bottles, and the fragrances were created in France under the direction of the perfumer Michel Almairac.
